Sunday, 23rd May 2010 - Yap Wei Ming carded a total of 79 gross to emerge as the winner of the National Insurance 1st Charity Golf Tournament at the Royal Brunei Golf & Country Club, Jerudong.
Second place went to Tony Hj Karim with a score of 81 gross followed by Azhar Hj Saji in third place with 83 gross.
In the Nett category, Hj Osman Bin Hj Duraman has an exceptional round of golf when he finished with 60n ett to win the category.
Hj Mohd Roger Abdullah came in second place with 62 nett followed by Hj Yaakub Bin Hj Jumat in third spot with 64 nett.
Hj Abd Shokor Abd Kassim came in fourth place with 65ocb and Hj Junaidi Latif scored 65 nett to be in fifth place.
In the novelty prizes, Nearest to the Pin at Hole No 3 went to Wan Man WanHil, Nearest to the Pin at Hole No 8 went to Hj Mohd Jalaluddin Hj Ghazali, Nearest to the Pin at Hole No 13 went to Tony Karim and Nearest to the Pin at Hole No 16 went to Hj Aziz Kassim.
The prize for Longest Drive for Hole No 17 went to Hj Saiful Rizal Bin PD Dr Hj Ahmad.
The guest-of-honour, National Insurance General Manager Kolja Klawunn, presented the prizes to the winners.
There was no winner in the hole-in-one prizes of $10,000 cash, Madza 8 and Toyota Vios.
Some 85 golfers took part in the competition organised by National Insurance Co Bhd in conjuction with the company's 40th anniversary celebration.
Proceeds from the golf tournament will be donated towards education in assisting some unprivileged students with school fees, books, uniforms or shoes.
