Thursday, 20 May 2010 – National Insurance Co Bhd extended its Corporate Social Responsibility to students of Pusat Bahagia. The money was raised during National Insurance Co Bhd’s 40th anniversary from the sales of the anniversary’s corporate merchandise and activities on 17 January 2010.
Donations in the form of uniforms, books and school accessories were presented to the under privilege students of the Pulaie centre by Kolja Klawunn, General Manager of NICB. Present at the event were Hj Rosmadee Hj Mohd Daud, Assistant Director and Hj Zanie Hj Tarih, Senior Instructor of the centre, Chen Choon Foong, Assistant Manager of Business Development and Katherine Teo, Assistant Manager of NICB.
Donations were not only extended to Pusat Bahagia Pulaie but also to Pusat Bahagia Tutong and Pusat Bahagia Eric Goh.
Pusat Bahagia, was established under the Department of Community Development (Japem) of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in 1975 with an objective to provide assistance for people with special needs. The centre has currently 143 individuals registered with them.
Hj Rosmadee expressed his thanks to Kolja and presented him with a craft specially made by the students.
This Sunday 23 May 2010, National Insurance will be hosting their 1st charity golf tournament at the Royal Brunei Golf & Country Club, Jerudong. The proceeds from the tournament will be donated to charity.
National Insurance will continue in this charitable drive in assisting students as part of their social responsibility.
