Wednesday, 5 May 2010 – Through money raised during National Insurance Co Bhd’s 40th anniversary from the sales of the anniversary’s corporate merchandise and activities on 17 January 2010, the General Manager, Kolja Klawunn presented three Bursary Awards to three students from Chung Hwa School Kiudang.
The Bursary Awards, which are a school fees sponsorships were presented to Nikereen Ak Betty, Jeremy Jiane and Yeo Siew Wan. Present at the event were the Principal of CHS Kiudang Mr Cikgu Kimpat bin Tiga, the vice principal, directors and staff from Business Development of National Insurance Co Bhd, Ignatius Lau and Chen Choon Foong.
Named after the village, Kampung Kiudang in rural Tutong, Chung Hwa School Kiudang is a non – profitable primary school and was found in 1951.
The Bursary Award will help the students in getting a proper education as the company realized the rights of all children to get proper education to reach their potential for Brunei Darussalam. Kolja also emphasized to the students to be diligent in their studies
This is the 6th school which had received such donation from National Insurance in assisting their students. The other schools were Sekolah Rendah Melilas, Sekolah Rendah Sukang in rural Belait, Chung Hwa Middle School in Bandar Seri Begawan, Sekolah Rendah Sengkarai and Sekolah Rendah Penanjong in Tutong.
National Insurance will continue in this charitable drive in assisting students as part of their social responsibility.
