Wednesday, 10 February 2010 – As part of their social responsibility, National Insurance Company Berhad, a leading general insurer in Brunei Darussalam, extend a helping hand to the students of Sekolah Rendah Datu Maharaja Setia Dian Sukang.
Money was raised from sales of company’s corporate items, and games and activities which were organized during their 40th anniversary celebration, which was held on Sunday, 17th January 2010. As promised by the General Manager, Kolja Klawunn all proceeds which were collected during that day are to be donated back towards education in assisting some students with school fees, or purchasing school books, school uniform or shoes. National Insurance realized the right of all children to get proper education to reach their potential for the country.
Sekolah Rendah Datu Maharaja Setia Dian Sukang which is located in Ulu Belait was identified as one of the schools to be assisted. A school pack containing 2 sets of uniform for either male or female student, tudong, sokong, a pair of white sports shoes and a pair of black school shoes, socks and all the necessary school stationeries along with a school bag was donated to each student.
The school packs were presented to the school principal Abd Malik bin DMS Hj Muhd Simpok by Kolja Klawunn at their KB Branch which is located at Jalan Pandan Tujoh in Kuala Belait. Presence at the event was Alexander Akaw, Assistant Manager for Underwriting and Alice Tsen, Branch Executive for Kuala Belait.
