Sunday, 17 January 2010 - National Insurance Co Berhad (NICB) was incorporated in 1969 and is one of the market leaders in general insurance in Brunei Darussalam. The company celebrated it’s 40th anniversary today.
Mr Kolja Klawunn, General Manager along with the rest of the management and staff was at Chung Hwa Middle School as early as 7 am in preparation of the event.
The Guest of Honour, YAM Pengiran Kerma Raja Pengiran Hj Kamarulzaman bin Pengiran Pekerma Setia DiRaja Sahibul Bandar Pengiran Dato Hj Ali, was welcomed by Mr Klawunn and the management team. Also present at the ceremony was Datin Hjh Edah Hj Mohd Noor, one of the Board of Director.
The ceremony was officiated by a short address by Mr Klawunn and by the launch of the revamped website of National Insurance by Yang Amat Mulia, who later had a walk around to view the games and activities.
In 2010, the company wants to continually seek to retain market leadership in their preferred areas. They seek to provide outstanding service to their clients. They also seek to employ the most suitable people, as they believe training and development will be the key to their success. All this will help them to produce excellent results for both our shareholders and NICB’s future development.
The company plays an active role in the Brunei business community and is a member of the General
Insurance Association of Brunei Darussalam, the Brunei Darussalam International Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the East Asia Insurance Congress.
All proceeds which were collected during the celebration will be donated back towards education and assisting some students with school fees, or purchasing school books, school uniform or shoes. National Insurance realized the right of all children to get proper education to reach their potential for the country.
