World Health Organization (WHO) had declared that COVID-19 outbreak as a global pandemic on 11th March 2020. This announcement has been widely covered by mainstream media and is considered as a “Known Event”.

No. A pandemic falls under the Policy General Exclusions which states that “any loss resulting directly and indirectly from a pandemic, epidemic, infectious diseases are not covered”.
Therefore, these policies do not cover any claims resulting directly or indirectly from COVID-19.
Yes, for single trip policy provided is done before the travel date.
If the Insured develops a fever in an affected country and is suspected to have COVID-19 by the relevant Health Authority, any medical expenses incurred shall not be covered. If the Insured developed a fever and not related to COVID-19, any medical expenses incurred will be covered.
The Policy has a specific provision on automatic extension of coverage which has to be due to (a) a serious illness or accidently bodily injury sustained by the Insured Person OR (b) the scheduled public conveyance in which the Insured Person is travelling being unavoidably delayed resulting the insured being unable to complete the trip within the period of insurance.
